Robin Hoffman has always loved to draw and to dance. For nearly 20 years, she had a career in ballet with the Joffrey II Dancers, the Milwaukee Ballet, the Louisville Ballet, The Joffrey Ballet, and the Metropolitan Opera Ballet; dancing principal roles in ballets by George Balanchine, José Limón, Choo San Goh, and many others. She is a certified Labanotator and has notated works by Bruce Marks and Paul Taylor, and staged works by Doris Humphrey, Richard Englund, and most recently, Martha Graham. She has been a guest teacher for several schools of dance, including the Cecchetti Council of America and Barnard College. She studied illustration at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She enjoys finding ways to tell more about a particular dance in one illustration than one photo could tell. Robin works in Brooklyn where she lives with husband Ben Zackheim and son Jack Zackheim, barely outnumbered by pet cats. |
